About ToolTime

ToolTime is a SaaS company built on the idea of change. Since 2019 it’s been our mission to provide the operating system for craftsmen - from offer creation through to time tracking, we digitize and simplify the work they carry out across their entire business. This is why over 85 highly talented people with diverse backgrounds and nationalities come to work every day. Along the way, ToolTime has raised more than €25 million in capital and brought onboard investors who are themselves rooted in the craftsmen industry.

Our values

Best
TOGETHER

Never go alone when you want to achieve big things. We are a strong team and asking for help is crucial to our success. Disagree and commit, once a decision is made by the team, everyone stands behind it.

Stay
CURIOUS

Questioning is our daily business. Life is trial and error and room for mistakes is important to us. We are a young company progressing continuously. The status quo is one of many stops on our journey.

Spark
POSITIVITY

Being positive is not always easy that is why 2% grumpy is totally ok. Misunderstandings can happen sometimes, especially when working remote, therefore we always assume good intentions.

Benefits for your happiness

On top of base benefits – things we don’t want you worrying about, like high quality hardware – we also offer a flexible benefit program that you can choose to put towards your specific wants and needs.

How ToolTime hires

At ToolTime we hire for culture and mindset as much as we hire for skill. We tailor the exact process to meet the job’s specific demands. Here are the most-common interviewing steps:

1

Introduction call

Let’s get to know each other. We want to find out more about you, why you are interested in ToolTime and give you more information about the role and the company.

2

Hiring Manager call

A call with your potential direct manager who’ll chat about your role, walk you through the current and upcoming challenges, and check upon your experience and skills

3

Onsite day

Next up is a full onsite day with the people you would work with regularly if you get the job, both in your direct and cross-functional team. For engineering, you will have a pairing exercise.

4

Decision

The hiring decision is not left to a single person – the whole hiring team makes the final call. We vote and describe our decision based on competencies showed, and culture values displayed during the hiring process.

Do you still have questions?

Can I also send a speculative application?

arrow

Yes, please email your application to careers@tooltime.de. Don’t forget to tell us who you are. The better you describe yourself and what you are looking for, the easier it will be for us to figure out if we can offer you a position within our company.

Shall I apply in German or English?

arrow

This depends on the language requirements which you find in the job advert. If in doubt: English is always the right choice.

What benefits does ToolTime offer as an employer?

We have a variety of different benefits such as team events, 30 days of vacation, learning and development budget and many more!

To go into more detail: Our regular team events allow us to bond and have fun together. They can range from sports games to parties to team-building exercises. How does your hybrid policy work?

arrow

Our offices is in Berlin, Friedrichshain and we leave it up to the teams to define how often they meet onsite. Generally, ToolTimers tend to come in 1-2 days a week to the office. As long as you have a great communication flow and results with the team, we are flexible with when, how long and from where you work. This includes that you can also work remotely outside of Germany, for example, to extend the summer or mix it with your vacation travels.

What is your company's language?

arrow

Our company language is english, so all company communication (policies, meetings, all-hands) are in english. At the same time, as our product is B2B for German market, in some departments german language might prevail in the daily conversations. These departments would be Sales and Customer Success teams or similar.

How inclusive & diverse are you?

arrow

ToolTime is committed to creating a diverse, respectful, safe and inclusive workplace.  D&I at ToolTime means accepting and encouraging individual differences. We currently have 21 different nationalities and 48% of all leadership positions at ToolTime are held by women. We believe diversity is important, and we consciously integrated practices and policies that support diversity.

What you you mean by #besttogether weeks?

arrow

Since we are not in the office every day, we have one #besttogether week per quarter to collaborate, keep in touch and learn with each other and from each other. In these weeks we are trying to push our product to the next level (during hackathons), holding and joining workshops and having fun in team events.
